My plot with osx usb 3 to gigabit adapter

I recently started working on a MacBook pro and wanted to connect it to my home network which is based on cables (wow right?)

I have this connector working on a windows device where it wasn’t the simplest task to install but I made it.

For the osx it looked even worse, but few hours of searches and a familiar component names from my past , which doesn’t sound related, led me to the solution

This is my connector’s image, hopefully you have a similar one
This is called a STLab USB3.0 to 10/100/1000M Gigabit Ethernet Controller

The first result (currently) when searching for “stlab USB3.0 to 10/100/1000M Gigabit Ethernet Controller” brought up a component called AX88179 belonging to a company called asix

This site contained my driver!
Just search there forĀ Apple Mac OS X (I hope this link still works)

This post is written using my new connection to the world!

Indeed happy days!
