About my blog

My name is Assaf, 37 years old, working in the computer software field.

For the last two years I have a large interest in personal development stuff, productivity increase and generally wanting to do more with my life.

I began my journey with setting goals on the personal side – learning a new language, learning to swim, learning to play an instrument and from there I proceed to other stuff such as MOOCs (online courses), reading personal development audio books and listening to podcasts.

The latest book I read which drove me to start this blog was this book

The 4-Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss
The 4-Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss

Great book with lots of tools to improve productivity and view life in a different perspective.

Now back to the present.

After reading tons of articles and listening to interviews I noticed that my favorite type of learnings came from “what is…” questions which usually provide concrete meaning to big mantras and sayings (questions like what is the greatest moment in your life or what is some known figure secret of success).

My purpose in this blog is to aggregate the best “what is the” questions in one place and allow each and every one of you to find a place to start with and evolve.

Hence the blog’s title – “What is the…”

I will use links to articles I find and will make an effort to contact various influential people who made an impact in their fields and ask them these types of simple questions.

This should be lots of fun and I’m looking forward to hearing from you and getting feedback

So, again, nice to meet you

Assaf
